Domi Klingberg

Created by: Grog
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 11, 2023
Published: Jan. 12, 2023
Team: 2022-23 Toronto Maple Leafs
Description
Pick and a prospect for Domi. Domi would be a nice jolt of energy for Toronto's bottom 6, which needs a little meanness to it. Blackhawks get a fair return while not in a position of leverage.

Klingberg deal probably a slight overpay on the Leafs end, but that's typically the nature of TDL moves. Assuming Jake Muzzin doesn't play hockey ever again, Klingberg would be a good candidate to resign in offseason.

Just because Max's father was Tie, does not mean Max is as tough and rough as daddy Domi.

Domi is not a 4th liner and the Hawks better like NA a lot to accept that offer for Domi

How are the hawks "not in a position of leverage"? That doesn't really make any sense. They have all the leverage. You want domi. They got domi. There's literally nothing else to it.

I would accept that offer as the Anaheim GM but please, leave Der-Arguchintsev at home.

I wouldn't expect another team to offer more than this. Domi is a bottom 6 guy on a contending team.

Wrong, Domi is complimentary line mate to a middle 6 line

it's hilarious how people think domi is "mean" or "tough". He's not. He's at worst a rat, and one who isnt particularly good at it. Throw in that he simply isnt good as either a top 6 winger for scoring unless you give him ALL the power play time and his shooting percentage happens to spike, he's horrific defensively so using him in a bottom 6 role is a bad idea too.

And Klingberg is basically an offensive defender who also cant defend and doesnt score near enough for it to matter

Yet he was a 4th liner for Carolina last year.

I'm not a Domi fan, but Hawks get more from some team (not named the Leafs). Klingberg doesn't crack the Leafs top 4 RHD or the Leafs top 7 Dmen.

Think the Leafs are set on defense, unless things have changed.

And yet that didn't work out to well in Carolina...wrong utilization compared to Montreal and Chicago where he's put up his best numbers

You mean terrible teams that had no other choice but to play him high up in the lineup because they had nobody better and were able to spoon-fed him opportunities he couldn't earn on a good team?

Run-on sentence! LMAO

He's not being spoon-fed if you watch the games. You'd also notice he clearly isn't a 4th liner if you watch him.

He gets a lot of minutes and opportunities because theres literally nobody else to play and doesn't have to worry about defence because the Hawks dont care about winning. Any fringe athlete can succeed on a team like that. The Leafs had plenty of scrubs put up decent numbers because they got played like top line players.

"any fringe athlete can succeed on a team like that" yet Patrick Kane himself isn't...that's such a misnomer comment. Engvall and Kerfoot you mean who can produce on a line with JT and Nylander or Matthews and Marner? LOL Domi on either one of those lines would pick up a lot more points then either of those guys could....why? Because you still need to see the ice well and have offensive talent, even moreso on a bad team as Patrick Kane is proving.

Dude, on a contender Max Domi is a 3rd liner. Theres a reason why nobody bothered trading for him last deadline. Max Domi is the equivalent of @ripnasty, mediocre and dumb
