In the article, the author literally said “this move is like those Flex Tape commercials. Provorov being the tape” lmao

Lol. Disregard any article that even attempts to have the Kings move Quinton Byfield. It's nothing more than embarrassing click-bait.

I wouldn't move Byfield for that entire package, much less include the Kings franchise icon goaltender and a solid RD prospect.

Think Drew Wheeler should stick to drawing bikes instead of making up "no way" trades

Broberg has been looking excellent recently too... I must say Provorov at 50% does look enticing though. They might be able to partially fill the Ceci hole with a rental like Radko Gudas.

I'd have to think about this proposal some more, but I wouldn't dismiss it outright.

yes with another move possible. but the one trade alone I dont think move the needle enough. Ceci can be very effective. i think it may turn out to be a lateral move not one that really pushes the defense forward.

Provorov is 3 years younger than Ceci too.

Well, clearly Drew Wheeler doesn't know very much about the Kings. We're not about to trade Quinton Byfield, and why in the world would you guys want less than 40 games of Jonathan Quick?

Frankly, anybody who thinks that Cody Ceci and Jesse Puljujarvi are equivalent to Quinton Byfield (never mind Grans and Quick) shouldn't be allowed to use a computer.

Thanks. It looks like he's suggesting Brown at 50%, not Provorov. Unfortunately the money just doesn't work for Edmonton. You'd have to find a way to save $1M at least for the Oilers to be able to make a deal.

A professional writer did this? That Kings trade is hilarious and I stopped paying attention after that…

                  Right?

"Realistic trades" he titles it. Then immediately starts with Quinton Byfield. What a crock.

yes with another move possible. but the one trade alone I dont think move the needle enough. Ceci can be very effective. i think it may turn out to be a lateral move not one that really pushes the defense forward.

Looking at the numbers now, and Provorov's defensive metrics aren't quite as good as Ceci's (past 1.5 seasons at 5v5). And since his cap hit is more than double, I just can't see any way this works for Edmonton.

If Philadelphia was willing to retain 50% (that's not the proposal) then there's a conversation to be had here, but it would have to be in conjunction with another deal for a defensive RHD. Personally I'd rather keep Ceci and trade Kulak + Puljujarvi for Provorov with 25% retained.
