Chychrun doesn’t make sense for us, period.

I am not convinced that Chychrun is someone that Sabres need that much. Both top pairs look good, I would look for defensive help in forward group and goaltending. Some vet 3rd pair D would be welcomed as well.

That Portillo trade is interesting. Hawks have 2 other unsigned college goalie prospects in Basse and Commesso. If Portillo decides to sign with Chicago, one or both of the others may not sign, especially if they have been promised by the Hawks they have a future with them. Scouts will have to determine which of the three is the best prospect and go from there.

AZ isn't trading Chych without ar least one 1st in the package.

Hawks aren't using a 4th for Portillo. Both of the Hawks G prospects in NCAA are up for the Richter award too. And they have Soderblom in the AHL.

No team is trading for Erik Portillo. He’s a good prospect; but unless he’s a top 5 goalie prospect in hockey, nobody is going to give an asset up for a chance to sign him.

Arizona already tried for Savoie, so obviously it didn't happen.
