It's undoing the Tampa-Vancouver trade for Miller that Benning did.

Funny enough, Benning won that trade and Allvin is the one who ended up ruining it with this extension. But at the end of the day, Aquilini is probably the real problem.

Benning is easily one of the worst GMs in all of sports history. How that guy was able to run the team for 8 years is beyond me. An average fan could have done a much better job but instead were screwed for the foreseeable future because of his idiotic tenure

Allvin ruined it by getting overly greedy during 22 deadline and ignoring the chytil, lunqvist, 1st offer for him cause he wanted Schneider or Laf in the deal. Then assuming he could lowball Horvat. Then his mentor (JR) showing Miller the way to destroy a team with comments and actions that shouldn't be public put it there in the open so you hurt trade values for your players.

The cynic in me is thinking deadline we are either going to sit on horvat cause someone wouldn't pay young top 6 C, top D prospect, and 1st. Or getting a return of some 28 year old 4th liner making 4m and 3rd round pick.

Honestly don’t blame Allvin for signing Miller. With the way they played at the end of last season they looked like a legitimate playoff team. Going into the season most people including me had them as AT LEAST a wildcard playoff team. I’m honestly quite shocked at how bad they’ve been this year

Fair but I think with our cap Situation they had to realize mostly likely signing one meant the other went out the window. Other issue I had with it was signing Horvat prior to this season probably saves the team 1-2 million dollars and not even cause of his hot start just cause of the contracts given to somewhat comparable players.

I still dont know why he didnt say that he would go into the season and assess from there, there was no reason to have the contract done

I feel like the D corps (whom I ranked in the bottom 3 going into the season) would've inevitably sunked the Canucks hopes for success in 22/23.
But Demko getting injured / severely underperforming compounded the issue greatly.
