Idk that the Sabres would give a 2nd for Garland….
maybe if u ass Schenn as well & we’d throw in a 4th or a mid-level prospect

Just my guess though
Even though i like Garland, unless we trade a forward or 2 out, we don’t really have a slot for him

Some RD depth seems obvious though,
which is why i brought up Schenn

Flames don't consider that. 3rd liners aren't worth 1st pair defensmen

Can't imagine buffalo paying an early second for an undersized winger making 5 million. As the athletic pointed out, the not-elite winger market has cratered. Not to mention that buffalo doesn't need forwards. Schenn is somebody I would definitely kick the tires on though. Probably not to play with power, just a vet depth d that plays a gritty game.

Agree - and Garland was a player I wished the Sabres would have added when the Coyotes moved him out. He's still a good 5x5 play driver but it seems Adams is determined to stick with his own forward group without moving any of the younger players out and he'll likely also bring back Okposo and Girgensons just for their lockerroom / leadership contributions. That leaves the defense as the only area the Sabres could conceivably change......and if the Canucks were a trade partner, I wonder if a Bryson for Juulsen might be more along the lines of a under-the-radar deal. Comparable ages and experience but the Sabres shift their depth to RHD while the Canucks get a more mobile defender that they don't have many of.

If Minnesota had the cap space, they would most likely accept this.

Well it is the VGK 2nd, so it’s a late 2nd
But yeah, that’s why i said MAYBE if they included Schenn too

I agree it’ll be hard to get a 2nd for Garland
And idk that we’d even be interested regardless
