Yeah, Poile (and other GMs too, presumably) often inquires about the asking price on players he has no interest in. Seems like it's a good way to get the pulse of the current trade market - whether you're trying to trade for a different player, or figure out what you could get for moving one of your own.

VAN fans online have been getting ridiculous ever since the Horvat to NSH rumour the other day. Most of them are expecting Pettersson's trade value for a Horvat rental.
