Poile probably phoned to see Horvat's price, helps gm's get a feel of the market. Every other gm has probably also phoned.

yeah, I don't disagree. Sometimes its just nice to change up the scenario than go to the same rinse and repeat offers every build. I think Fabbro's value has declined quite a bit in NSH and he does fill a hole in VAN so maybe there's a potential? The biggest problem is that NSH isn't a contender and would need to resign.

I agree. GM's will also always pay for a role they need.

I guess time will tell.

In all honesty, despite the fact that you're a Vancouver fan, I think the Canucks are the ones that reject this trade.

Blais has been a non-factor in NY, but Dermott hasn't wowed either. Considering the Rangers could hopefully pull off the Capfriendly favorite deal (Kulikov for a 3rd) to bolster the D, they would probably want to hold off on swapping Blais for Dermott. Can move Blais elsewhere with a Pick, or bury him in Hartford.

As far as the remainder of the deal, you get your 1st Rounder. But Henriksson has REALLY struggled. Not only this Season, transitioning to a North American style rink. But even his last couple years in Sweden were lackluster.

Rangers take this trade all day everyday (with or without the Blais/Dermott combo). But I actually think Vancouver could get more.

I even offered a proposal of Kuzmenko for a 1st Rounder (the better of the 2 we have) and Jaroslav Chmelar, who has been trending upwards.

I don't think NSH should be trying to improve at the deadline this season, even if they're firmly in a wildcard position. But IF they're solidly at least 3rd in their division around then (which isn't out of the realm of possibility yet), I could easily see Poile being a buyer.

In that scenario, this is a more than fair price for a rental Horvat, given the season he's having.

I don't see NSH making this deal with any intention of re-signing him though. Unless Horvat is their clear MVP through a deep playoff run, and they're forced to come up with a way to keep him.

Unless the price was centered around granlund or johansen, i dont see why nashville would do this. They arent in a position to spend futures. The team is simply just not good enough and horvat doesnt fix that.
