If Chabot is on the market, that's a deal we'd have to make. I've always wanted to post it, but every time I even HINT at trading Iafallo, I get excoriated by my fellow Los Angeles adherents.

You're under-familiar with Alex Iafallo. The reason why my Kings colleagues consider him indispensable is his two-way play, including penalty killing. Next to Anze Kopitar, he's our best forward defensively, and he'd immediately be your best defensive forward.

    I wouldn’t spend a 5th on Brannstrom let alone a 3rd or higher

Both raw and net. But the difference between you (81.9%) and the Dallas Stars in fifth (82.6%) is statistically insignificant, at least to me. And if you go by net figures, the same is true (84.7% to 85.3%, which is Calgary, again in fifth).

Why not Chabot for Chychrun as a base trade? Seems like Chabot for Durzi is a bit lateral with play style but I get the other stuff is good too.

I’d rather get more pieces and fill up like 3-4 spots

With the 1st you have to take the trade you proposed.

But just for thought, Chychrun and Boyd/Fischer for Chabot and maybe something minor. Then you could use the extra money to fill out the other spots.

Genuinely curious - why would Yotes entertain Chycrun for Chabot trade? I thought they were trading Chycrun for assets (picks, prospects) that are better suited to help them in 3-5 years when their competitive window opens (in theory). Plus Chabot has higher cap hit for longer term. Doesn't make sense?

He’s signed long term at a decent age. The higher cap hit won’t matter as much when their window opens as the cap will go up. Chabot might be worth more too because of the long term contract.

And if we’re getting picky, does LAK want to pay 2 Dmen 11M and 8M respectively long term?

ott passes, a 3rd liner, a player like zub but worst defensively and a late first does not get you a #1 Dman, signed long term to a good contract in his prime

Arizona is playing in a college arena, they aren't adding cap for an older player. Come on

This gotta be the dumbest rhetoric out there. They don’t lose any ticket sales by being in that arena while they wait for their new one.

Defensive side of the puck... is like the biggest reason for the Sens struggle to get over 0.500

Offensive talent in spades but our play without the puck is so bad that it hurts our scoring, particularly 5 on 5

Sens shouldn't look to do a piece vs quantity but the return as a whole is actually quite good. I value players like Iaffolo. Durzi is also quite dynamic and a 1st is always good to have

But you know why this trade would be extremely dumb? Because it would actually expose how stupid and clueless Pierre Dorion is.

He traded Nick Paul for Joseph and a 4th and as a result, Connor Brown also wanted out (then traded for a 2nd)

We basically had 2 guys in the Iaffalo mold but traded them away for almost peanuts.

Don't worry. I really doubt Dorion is allowed to make any panic move due to the impending sale

Thank Alfie. We have suffered enough from his lack of competence

Plus prices for tickets are very expensive.
