Chytil is still an RFA. NY probably has more room for negotiation than Sweeney did with Zacha. And don’t get me wrong: Zacha’s been good. Well worth what they’ll be paying him. But with Chytil’s situation, maybe a bridge deal until he’s UFA will be what Chytil wants. For the Rangers, maybe a Zacha deal would be best (longer term)

I think they go long on both chytil and key if they can figure out how to fit them, both guys around 5 mil for 8 years

that is going to be tough to make the cap work, even if they trade Laffy and Kravtsov. You need 12 forwards and 6 d men.

Goodrow would have to leave and laf and kravtsov would bridge for 2 years cheap. It still gets tough but at the end of the day you gotta do what ya gotta do to make room for those extensions. Most ideal move would obviously have been moving trouba but that’s a real longshot

yeah, Goodrow is quickly becoming a luxury NYR can't afford. Of course giving them both long-term deals will in the long run. Also backup goalie will be someone they already have contract for.
But 2023-24 will be tough to put out a competitive team. Perhaps they can convince Panarin to move too but that is equal longshot like moving Trouba.

I like the player and his potential is finally paying off I hope they fit him in if not I hope you trade him to Detroit when the deadline gets here because we could use him.

Cuylle-(4C from goodrow trade or brodz, rydahl, or any other cheap guy they get)- vesey (maybe trade or keep goat for cheap)

Top two pairs
Jones/ Robertson- schneids
Depth 7D guy for league min

Sheshty
Halak (if he comes back for 1mil)

Brodzy, Rydahl (extra forwards) you’ll have about 950k left over as extra money

The next year after that you have to trade trouba for a bunch of reasons- cap, schneids will be good enough for that spot, and space for an new dman
