Looking at Beniers, did R. Francis purposely allow him play 10 games in his rookie season, as a deal with the player/agent, to burn one of his elc year's ?

It seems odd that if they played him 9 games then his contract year would get an elc slide.

I guess we should expect the same for Wright, he'll get enough games played so this season counts as an elc year (he's at 8 games right now).

So Wright will be back with the Kraken this year.

Maybe that's why Wright is so upset with the Kraken, he doesn't want to see the elc slide and delay his big Nhl contract signing by another year.

This happens usually with college players. They have the leverage to choose not to sign so teams let them burn the 1st year at the end of a season, so they can get a raise quicker

I have never seen a report like that about Wright . OHL players are rarely allowed to have their ELC not slide so Wright doesn’t have the right to choose, it’s up to the team
