Description

Minnesota acquires RD Murphy who's cost controlled for 3 more years in place of Dumba. Toews would provide Cup experience, be useful on the PK and faceoffs, and provide secondary scoring for the playoffs run. Murphy probably worth a 2nd + and Toews maybe a 2nd. Have to pay for Murphy's cost certainty and getting something for Dumba.

I'd assume dumbas 10 team no trade list probably stops this before it starts

Who knows? Maybe he doesn't want to return to Canada or go to California. There's 10 teams.

Wild are stacked with D prospects so Murphy really doesn't make a lot of sense. Wild need scoring so Toews also not making much sense.

No from MN. They are better off keeping Dumba and letting him walk.

I don't think the "no Canada" rule really applies to Canadians

I don’t think that’s true…. But I doubt CHI is on his list if he wants to stay in MN. It just doesn’t make sense for MN here.

Odds are Faber is the only one of them on the opening roster next year though. However, it’s the acquisition cost rather than any perceived prospect depth as to why the Wild shouldn’t do this.
