big no on the levi trade. it would cost you much more than the bargain bin.

and that jeannot trade is a heavy no for nash.

This is an "deal offseason rebuild" for the Canadians not the teams with whom the Canadians are trading.

I don’t understand the Avs trade. Why would the Habs do that? I think the Avs accept pretty easily.

-Buffalo isn't giving up the rights to Levi for a 4th liner, a 4th rounder, and a goalie in Jake Allen who has a .892 SV% and 3.52 GAA this year. Levi is the guy that the Sabres are going to focus on signing - you'd have a better chance focusing on Portillo (although this package will not get him, either.)

-The Predators have Josi, McDonagh, and Jeremy Lauzon all signed through at least 2025-26. Norlinder is a guy who's not going to move the needle for them, especially not for a guy they value as highly as Tanner Jeannot. I think there is a deal to be made if you want him, I just think you need to offer them something that they'd actually, you know, want.

-When your offer has to have the qualifier "well their GM is ~dumb~ so obviously he'll make this trade" you know you've got a real winner of an offer. And what has Joel Edmundson done to prove he's worth a 1st rounder? Is it the multiple major injuries over the past two years, or the complete lack of production, or the abysmal defensive numbers that are pushing that? Inquiring minds need to know!

-Colorado makes this deal if they need the depth, Kovacevic is a decently useful player and swapping a 6th and 7th next year is nothing. If you want to move Kovacevic you can probably get slightly better value for him.

I assume that offer to Buffalo gets out to other gms and Hughes is shunned and forced to retire.

There's almost no reason for buffalo to even consider moving Levi and if they do it will have to be an offer they just cant say no too...not Allen n Pezetta
