Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Tried to keep the trades fair and take into account the needs and deadline cap of the other teams also everyone drafted and Perets spends a minimum of a half a year in the AHL.
Draft:

Depending on where our first pick falls and who is available one of
Bedard, Fantilli, Smith or Yager

Oilers pick Either Heidt or Wood

Wild pick - Dragicevic

Perets signed as NCAA FA

Also Monahan could be extended as part of the deal if the Wild would prefer but I think a 2nd or prospect would have to be added from the wild for that.

Additional Details:
Edmonton upgrades the D and dumps a year of Foegele at the cost of Schaefer but also fill the roster hole left by Foegele leaving with Dadonov. I added a 3rd just to balance out the trade as Schaefer is worth a 1st but dumping the extra year of Foegele would cost a 2nd min.

Jordan Harris is not worth Alex Turcotte. LA says no.

A top 4 D prospect isn't worth a struggling C prospect?! Somehow I doubt that.

Edit** If that is your biggest concern with this ACGM, I guess I did pretty well lol

Massive overpay for PLD. If he’s gonna be a free agent that has expressed a lot of interest in going to MTL then what’s the point of giving a usable Center, a B prospect and a high first for him? Kind of ridiculous.

To avoid waiting an additional year on him hitting FA and allow the Jets to get fair value. Alternatively we could wait but then the need for the Habs might not be there anymore

If the need might not be there in a year then again what’s the point? To overpay for someone we won’t need and most likely be overpaying after a year of having him?

Because it still might be there, if we don't win either lottery then Smith or Yager might be able to fill the 2C role by the time that PLD hits FA. However they are almost as likely not to be able to fill that role ever. Besides that why wouldn't you want to have a PLD on your team even if there might not be the need in the future.

You've been told before.

But Minnesota isn't interested in Monahan. Hasn't been for 3+ seasons. Guerin isn't going to trade for him, let alone pay that for a player the team doesn't want.

Send him somewhere else, and good luck getting a 1st because you're not getting it.

You can have Jones for a used bag of pucks though.

He's not struggling. He's been injured or ill and has missed significant time. When he has been healthy, he has looked very good.

His waiver exemption doesn't expire until 2024-25, so the Kings aren't in any rush with him. They're definitely not going to sell low on him.

I have never made a Monahan to the Wild trade before, maybe I argued it in someone else's thread but I don't recall it. No need to get testy about something just for the sake of it.

How is trading for an NHL calibre top 4 LHD selling low?

Harris might be further along in his development. He is a year older and hasn't missed a season and a half's worth of games due to injuries (ankle, two concussions) and illnesses (mono and acute appendicitis). However, his ceiling is nowhere near what Turcotte's is.

That's like saying that trading Juraj Slafkovsky for Mikey Anderson wouldn't be "selling low" because the former has disappointed so far this season, while Mikey Anderson is the best young defenseman on the Kings.

Not sure i would give a 2023 top 10 pick and Barron for Dubois, even if i'm probably the biggest PLD to MTL fan. I guess it depends who's still available at 10.
