Winnipeg won't "sell low" they will resign him to his QO and try one more run using him as their own rental before selling low.

I agree with you on Farrell he is looking like what we hoped Drouin would be, which is a 2nd line setup guy who is capable of 50+ points.

Winnipeg sells low is still higher than that. A TDL rental is worth more than that

Winnipeg are contenders this year and likely next year, if you remove PLD from that lineup they go from contenders to WC team, why would they do that just to extract very little value?

If you value Adam Nicholas' opinion (head of Habs Player Development program and former coach of Farrell) he believes Farrell to be an elite talent see quote and article link below

"Sean Farrell to me is a very heady player. He is phenomenal. He knows how to read the ice. He's playing chess and everyone else is playing checkers. For me, this guy is going to be very, very special. He thinks the game and he has elite tools, like his shot actually is very underrated. He can wire the thing. And he's an elite passer," praised Nicholas

Zero chance the Jets give Dubois away for nothing. He gets far more at the TDL, so they just wait until then or use him as an own rental which is more valuable than the package offered.

There's even less of a chance that Dubois dignifies that contract offer with a no.

Still think that Dubois opts for a double dip approach, signs with Winnipeg for 3/4 year term, 1 rfa plus 2/3 ufa years, and takes Winnipeg for a big number, then hits a healthy window and still gets paid plus term coming off a run of success and happiness in Winnipeg. Kind of a younger kadri, a lot depends on helly and scheifele camps.

Montreal fans are ****ed. These offers are getting all sorts of ****. I’m realistic in any return the Jets would get, but that offer gets beaten easily by a contender or Chevy uses him as a rental for one last push.
It funny, the team that gloats they got what they got for Ben ****ing Chiarot, consistently tosses out terrible offers for PLD who is a much more valuable player.

Even if Dubois said he only wants to sign long term with MTL, WPG could get more than that trading him as a 1 year rental to any team.

Trouba did the same thing a few years ago when he was a Jets, said he only wants to play for NYR. Rangers still paid a 1st (20 OA) and a young top 4 D (Pionk).

I don't think they trade Dubois to MTL for less than a 1st (15-24) and an A prospect (Barron or Beck).
