Lol, I always feel like each trade I propose is an underpay.

Yes, because sending a player who has been buried in the minors is considered selling

Honestly, it's a breath of fresh air from a lot of the Toronto ACGM's that are like "A $100 Canadian Tire gift card, Wendell Clark's mullet and these 3 minor leaguers for Conor McDavid"

That sarcasm was spread on thick! It makes no sense to trade the players again

Just for vibes and its kind of funny to do the same trade just 2 and a half years later.

I could have easily amended it to be lower, but for every trade I propose, the fans of the other team says the team passes, that's not nearly a fair trade. So I figured make it higher so you can bring it down.

All jokes aside, Detroit has no reason to move Perron, so we're honestly not the best trade partner for Toronto's needs and cost. Realistically for Detroit to move Perron somebody would have to overpay by a lot, so you're really not off on cost, I just don't think it would be a great idea from the Toronto perspective to do it, while it doesn't make sense for Detroit to do it for reasonable cost.

To be honest our reason for cycling Perron should be that he’s 34, if the value is there. Take out voit and I still probably would consider this trade.

We aren’t a bubble Team this year in this division. Maybe next year. We need to keep building the foundations for the future with assets who won’t be here when we’re good. Perron fits that, so if someone is tossing a 1st and second our way, I’m hitting the sell button.

I just feel like for price + acquisition cost, Perron is the perfect fit for the Leafs needs. And it makes sense for Detroit as they aren't making the playoffs barring a miracle and can use the cap flexibility. The only reason why not is he is a leader, wears the A, and they may feel like keeping him is more valuable. Just feels like a underrated trade target if Detroit is a willing partner.

I like Perron, but yeah if someone's going to offer up something like this (even 2 2nds depending on the cap hit and player that comes back) the Wings should do it.

This is pretty realistic and about right value-wise. Detroit has no reason to trade Perron and we're short of right shooting players so in order to get him a team will have to offer something that makes it worth it for Detroit. This offer does so, Kerfoot is a passable replacement for the rest of the season, Voit is a right shooting prospect that have some chance of making it, and the picks are what makes this offer interesting for us. If you had offered anything less we would simply have said no and happily kept Perron for another year, he fills a function and is a valuable member of the team.

Kudos for making an offer that actually has a chance of being accepted by Yzerman. I have no clue if this is the right offer for Toronto but Detroit is likely to accept.

The inevitable my team's players are better than your team's players so you should give up more for them.

See EDM ACGM wanting top pair D and a draft pick for Pulijujarvi.
