23-24 let the kids play

Description
After signing Zacha the roster seems a little more clear.

You aren't going to be able to re-sign Pasta and bring in a top 6 center unless the cap raises significantly.

I don't believe that they will make any big splashes at the deadline and if they make moves it will most likely be rental depth pieces.

Bergeron comes back for the farewell tour and buys uncle Donny time for the cap to raise in order to re-tool. Krejci rides off into the sunset with a 2nd cup.

Bottom six is filled with Wanna B's. Lysell and Merkulov ride shotgun with Coyle to get their feet wet. Insert any bottom six prospect into the 4th line with Freddy centering.

They are going to need to dump some cap, so Reilly goes to any team along with a late round pick. Gryz has value as a legit puck moving D-man and should get a 2nd or 3rd rounder, doesn't have to be Seattle.

I do think they find an upgrade over Zboril just not sure who. Clifton will be too expensive to re-sign so insert any veteran RHD to sign for south of 850

I don't think Merkulov will be in the NHL next year, but hey, you could probably sign a Patrick Maroon for league minimum maybe. It's a automatic trip to the finals so......

I could see Ullmark or Carlo being moved if it involves a young C or a 1st+. Helps us cap wise and then also to find our future top 6 C

Keep Clifton and send Carlo for a promising center prospect? I could see that but you're giving up a lot of size on the back end, not that Carlo plays very heavy for his size but is still an "elite" shutdown guy.

Dallas is not letting go of Wyatt Johnston for Brandon Carlo, that's for sure. They struck gold there.

Sweeney had his chance. Drafted Lysell at 21 in 2021. Dallas took Johnston at 23 in 2021.
