wild playoff upgrades

Created by: BenghisKHan
Team: 2022-23 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 18, 2023
Published: Jan. 18, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Dumba is moved for a NHL D and a pick.
The big upgrade comes in a threeway deal that sends Brodin to TOR and Greenway and assets to AZ for Nylander and Chychrun this gives the Wild desperately needed scoring depth.
This also plays into supporting Kirill so he sees a team that wants to win and is willing to ink an extension before he hits UFA.
Looking ahead, assuming you can deal Barrie for at least a bag of pucks in the off season this should leave the Wild w/ 10 Mil to resign RFA's in the offseason.
Trades
1.
MIN
  1. Chychrun, Jakob
Additional Details:
Idk if AZ goes for this from what I can tell they are currently asking 2 1st and a top prospect but that is a lot for a guy who has never played meaningful hockey after Christmas
ARI
  1. Greenway, Jordan
  2. Peart, Jack [Reserve List]
  3. 2023 1st round pick (MIN)
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (MIN)
2.
MIN
  1. Nylander, William ($2,297,580 retained)
Additional Details:
This is would be a Three way deal w/ AZ they would be retaining 33% of Nylander's cap hit as part of the deal for Chychrun
3.
MIN
  1. Barrie, Tyson
  2. 2023 2nd round pick (EDM)
Additional Details:
This pick has two conditions attached. First, if Dumba doesn't sign an extension it becomes a 2023 5th and a 2024 5th. Second, if Dumba sign's an extension and the Oilers make the Conference final it becomes a 2023 1st.
EDM
  1. Dumba, Matt ($1,500,000 retained)
Additional Details:
Wild retain 25% of his salary to make it work

no longer allowed to have conditions of "if player signs extension, x becomes y" etc.

Lol! Minnesota isn't interested in Jacob c! In no world Minnesota is trading brodin, nor is brodin waiving! Brodin is one of the best shutdown D in the NHL! That dumba deal is also bad for Minnesota, so this is just a troll, or bait

Not sure why Edmonton would accept that offer. Dumba and Barrie are pretty much statistically identical this season, so they aren't getting an upgrade. And Barrie has another year left on his deal, while Dumba is a UFA in the summer.

Dumba is the better 5v5 player and EDM would get the cap flexibility next year. Not saying it makes sense for either team, but the Wild pretty clearly lose here.

Except Dumba isn't a better 5v5 player according to his results this year. So why is Edmonton giving up a pick? Doesn't add up.
