Note: this is NOT a representation on value for these players, I only put the players because I am curious as to what pieces need to be added for a potential Horvat for Laffy trade to occur.

I think the Rangers are either going to need retention or a cap dump to make this work. The problem is, they don't have a cap dump type player (final contract year, $3+ mil), so retention will have to be the choice.
I personally think a first and Laf is an overpayment (I now, VAN fans are gonna crucify me),, but is going to be needed.
