Guerin doesn't do the first trade, it's moronic to trade the team's best defenseman.

And Ottawa doesn't do the second trade. Dumba isn't worth that to them. They're not moving their best center prospect for a guy they want but is still a UFA at the end of the year. Not even if he comes extended.

Nearly zero chance Spurg gets moved as he wouldn't move his NMC...... moving your captain and best Dman in the middle of his contract is not wise for the team either.

No way Addison signs for 6 years @ $5M..... he will do a bridge deal to get him through the cap hits and prove more years to get a bigger deal while the Wild need that bridge deal anyway if they want to fill our their roster with talent.

yeah man Ottawa should totally trade a good young rookie centre who's expected to be the long-term middle 6C option for an aging, washed up defenceman they'd have to sign to too big of a contract. can ottawa counter with Austin Watson for Calen Addison and Brock Faber?

equally unreasonable and equally not gonna happen. Pinto was a non-option in a trade for Chychrun, why would be be traded for Matt Dumba lmao

So you compound a bad trade proposal by saying something way worse?

the point of the Austin Watson thing was simply "I see your terrible trade proposal with another trade proposal to illustrate the point of how bad yours was" and if you can't actually understand that then idk what to tell you man

Except your idea/comparison was 10x worse than the OP. Watson has a career high of 19 points in one season. Dumba is still a really solid #3 that’s being forced into a shutdown role.

Dumba with an extension should be able to pull a relatively good prospect. Maybe that isn’t Pinto. But it’s not terribly off from just a value perspective, excluding team needs and contending/retooling/rebuilding status.

Watson for Faber and Addison is just so bad. Like holy ****, someone needs to fix their value estimator.
