So, no.

Holl is not likely to be in the NHL next year. He isn't good. Soucy is a good fit though
Engvall? Would rather just re-sign Kase who is better
Staal is going to want closer to 2-2.5 and not 1.
Bertuzzi doesn't make sense at that price considering how injury prone he is.
They're not giving Freddie a raise right now, could use the same cap hit.
Necas is never going to play C under Rod, that has become clear
No Scott Morrow is really a bad look.

All in all, pretty rough

The only thing you missed was that the Jackets are probably the worst option to trade a right-handed D to since we already have a glut of them.

For a 6th, that may as well be any team. Columbus, Toronto, Vancouver, San Jose, it really does not matter.

Everything they said plus the fact that I doubt Patches will ever stay healthy

He's not injury prone, he had a freak achillies injury and a minor lower body issue. He's already back in full to practice. There's just no reason to risk him making anything worse. It's no different than they did with Freddie, Aho, Teuvo, or anyone. If there's anything minor, you pull them. Even if they could play through it.

Canes aren’t trading Chatfield for a 6th. Despite what a certain poster has said, he has been very good for the Canes. Holl isn’t an upgrade.
