The Plan Part 1

Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Here the plan for Tampa, they need to find a guy to replace Alex Killorn for the future, aka someone for the RW2 spot that is good enough to help us in the Short Term and the Long Term all the while having a multi year contract. Tampa also needs a RHD who again is cheep enough to be good for long term while being already good while also having a Multi year contract. Looking at all the team, I can say the San Jose Sharks has both options in Barabanov and Matthew Benning (also Matt Nieto because he always the guy that sharks fans send to Tampa for cheap 4th in ACGMs). But how would Tampa deal with this move, 1st things 1st, get rid of Namestnikov as he will deal with Barabanov and Benning, then add Cal Foote, hoping he can develop in San Jose, also add ABB as he should be having around 17 points right now, but he in the AHL for IDK why. Next add the 2025 1st and the 2024 2nd round pick. Even then, Tampa is 800k over the cap, so they asked the sharks to retain Barabanov 50%. In return, I will do what few ACGMs and NHL GMs has ever thought of when it comes to ACGM, this idea is using Future Considerations to your advantage.

Lets look at the MLB for a second, If your a Pittsburgh Sports fan, you might as well look away, as I'm talking about the Chris Archer trade. if you dont know what happen, here a recap of the trade

Pittsburg Pirates Get

- Chris Archer (was a 2 time all star pitcher, but had crazy drama with the Pirates and became a below average pitcher, got injured, was declined of the option, and ended up back on the Rays before getting Injured again)

Tampa Bay Rays Get

- Tyler Glasnow (became a Cy Young Pitcher who threw 100 MPH Fastballs)

- Auston Meadows (AL Allstar in 2019, now in Detroit)

- Player to be named (Ended up being Shane Baz, he will be in the Rays starting rotation for 2023 most likely)

Notice how I said player to be named, This trade wasn't over until 2 weeks later, even thought it has already been made. But lets be honist, 2 weeks doesn't really determent if you are getting a good NHL caliber prospect or player, but how about a bit over a year and 3 months with the option of 6 of are top forward prospects. (Note all of that can very with X amount of time with Y amount of Prospects to choose from.) If I just add Isaac Howard to the trade, they will most likely declined, but if add the option to get Isaac Howard or another few prospect, and SJS will choose by 2024 offseason where they are more develop players, it will be very intriguing to the point you dont mind retaining half of Barabanov contract as you are almost guaranteeing a solid NHL player for the Future instead of trying to guess on getting a player hoping he turns out good. I mean looking at the 1st 3 reply's of when I tried this trade, it was Close Mixed between Slight Overpay from Tampa to Would rather have more picks than the prospects Tampa was offering.

TLDR: (Look at the trade)
Trades
SJS
  1. Barré-Boulet, Alex
  2. Foote, Cal
  3. Namestnikov, Vladislav
  4. 2024 2nd round pick (TBL)
  5. 2025 1st round pick (TBL)
Additional Details:
Future Consideration: One of Ilya Usau, Lucas Edmonds, Cole Koepke, Jack Finley, Max Cajkovic, or Issac Howard.

San Jose will choose who they will pick in the 2024 Offseason out of those 6 players

Looks okay to me, but NHL teams wont do that with future considerations. Sharks will just ask their favorite of the three now, so theres no issues later

That only because it rather the GM never knew about this idea or it to much of a risk for the other team considering they will lose their top prospect (or one of them). this is the one time it works, and if this goes well, the NHL will be interesting for the next few seasons.

Interesting ideas, but Tampa would need S.J. to retain slightly on Nieto(minimum 30k, but let's say 5%) for when Balcers came off IR. If not, Tampa would have to make another move or waive one of Balcers, Fleury, or Bellemare to be compliant I also think Benning would be rotating between 3rd pairing and #7 dman, rather than playing 1st pairing.

I also don't believe that Tampa would make any of Howard, Finley, or Thompson available as an additional piece here. They'd consider another prospect/young player imo, but I don't believe they'd part with any of those three for this particular package.

Tampa would most likely waive Fleury, or make a move to trade him to someone
