Take the 5th and Dumo out of Hawks trade and Hawks might do it. It's Penguins responsibility to flip Dumo or pay another team to do it.

Honestly, i like all of this. I would like to keep Ty Smith personally, but that is a good return imo.

I think CHI would do it knowing they have one retention slot left, assuming 88 and 19 are traded and retained, and can get a third from a. contending team for 50% retained of Dumoulin

Dumo has to go in that trade, need the cap space. He's on his final year and Chicago are sellers this year. Puustinen and the 2nd RD pick are to make up for Dumo. Most hawks fans i've seen have been fine with taking dumo if a 2nd and prospect are coming with it.

Kane and Toews are moving at the deadline, Domi and McCabe possibly + more, the hawks will need cap to stay above the 61 million floor, even knowing kane and toews will have some retention probably

Smith's value is decent, the problem is he'd be yet another small offensive-minded LD, and the Blues already have too many of those as it is. If Krug somehow is moved, this becomes a little more enticing.

Would be a welcome improvement. Only issue is Sully is going to give them no offensive zone time haha

Takes much more than a 3rd and former 7th round pick to dump dumo and mcginn. And no they can't just flip dumo (the laziest trend on here) because their retention slots are already accounted for this season.
Hawks will take the cap dumps and give up domi but it'd start with pits first rounder +

Dumo is of little consequence with his contract being up at the end of the year, the premise of flipping him is unrealistic though. But I still think CHI would negotiate a different return for sending Domi and taking Dumo and McGinn dumps. Also, in a month PIT fans could be singing Dumo and McGinn's praises and not want to dump them. Things change too quickly.

No i wanted Dumo gone two offseason ago, he’s too soft.
