3 team deal

Created by: gordfish
Team: 2022-23 Vancouver Canucks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 19, 2023
Published: Jan. 19, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Will the Bruins extend Pasta at $12m per? If not, this might be a suitable alternative and addresses their looming need at center, both at numbers that fit their cap structure.

The Rangers would need to do some work to get Pasta in under their cap moving forward, but they fix their hole at RW.

Canucks address their need at right side D, get the 1st round pick they want for Bo and the 2nd for 2024 they are looking to replace.

Does Boston look like a team that should be totally restructured?

In theory NYR getting Pasta makes sense, but there is no way the Bruins let him go without at least one 1st but more likely 2. Even though Bo Horvat is having a great year, this is a career year and Pasta has been doing that year after year. I just can't see it happening. Yes Pasta is in a contract year, but the Bruins are all in this year. They will risk losing him if it means getting a cup.

I didn't think Canuck fans could make worse Ranger trades, but you proved me wrong. Easy NO THANKS from the Rangers on the Pasta RENTAL and keep dreaming about Schneider in Vancouver because it will never happen.

NYR with a pretty easy decline there. Unless Boston or Vancouver extends him and retains half, there is no way to fit his pending 10+m contract he will get. So seeing that he would essentially be a pure rental, no way NYR include Schneider. But props to vancouver fans for keep trying to get Schneider.

Easy pass for NYR. Unless getting back a player they know they’ll extend, giving up a young player- who’s really beginning to show why other teams want him so bad- and a 1st and 2nd in a draft rumored to be so deep that 2024 1sts might be traded for 2023 2nds…is just extremely poor asset management.

BTW…not familiar w/ BOS cap situation….but losing Pasta yet setting the table going forward with added top6 C and RW….they seem to be the runaway winner in this whole trade- at least in the short term.
