Give me your Toews

Created by: tsyls
Team: 2022-23 Winnipeg Jets
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 19, 2023
Published: Jan. 19, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Saw that Friedman and Marek were talking about what they’ve heard from teams on what it would likely cost to acquire toews which is a 2nd and a 3rd. Seems like a very cheap cost to acquire him. If that’s the case I hope Chevy is calling.

I ended making the deal a 2nd, 3rd appleton + Chibrikov.

Should keep Chibrikov, dunno if the Hawks would take Appleton either.

Would Meier sign, I doubt he would but suppose it's possible, think I'd prefer to put those assets into someone with some term.

Meier has familiarity with Ehlers who signed long term. Could maybe happen, but not sure what the number would have to be.

Also yeah I’d prefer to keep Chibrikov too, If the deal could just be 2nd, 3rd and Appleton that would be nice.

I disagree, Lambert has done nothing to impress me. Invisible at the WJC, and wasn't very good in the AHL. Sharks passed on him at 27 so I doubt they have any interest now.
I like Heinola but haven't seen enough of him to be sold that he's a future top 4 D-man.

im pretty high on Lambert, I know he had the attitude issues, but he could be an elite talent, but maybe to long of a shot in a deal for our best forward :/

His production just isn't there, especially translated to the North American game. Maybe after his Junior season, if he impresses the rest of the way, I could see this deal at the draft. But attitude aside, I'm not a big fan

If that's the ask for Toews, then why add? He has full trade protection, so he can choose his destination. If he wants to play in WPG, all Chevy has to do is make the bare minimum offer.

Unsure if that price includes retention or not

If Grier wanted Lambert he would have taken one of the several opportunities to draft him. Not a Grier player. no interest
