The only way LA would trade for Allen is if Montreal was taking Petersen back. The Kings aren't going to pay significant assets to dump Petersen either, so I don't see Montreal wanting to do that.

Unless that pick is top 3, that doesn’t get chychrun.

The pick will be like at 7th, maybe 8th.

Considering that they ask in a total of two 1st round pick and the next upcoming draft is considering of one of the best in the past 15-20 years, a 1st round pick in the top 10 can have the same value as two 1st round pick. Also, I don't see a team like Chicago, Anaheim, Columbus, San Jose or Vancouver making a trade for Chychrun.

The ask is two 1sts and a quality prospect or good young NHL player. So even if you stipulate a 7-10 pick is worth two 1sts (it's not), you're still a quality prospect light.

Chychrun isn't getting a top 10 pick in this year's draft. Let alone all the other pieces in this trade.

Yes, but not because of value, but because teams drafting in the top ten shouldn’t be adding chychrun. The reason he is so valuable is his contract, which would be wasted on a team drafting that high.

That is a better package for Dubois than Dvorak and a 2nd... but still doesn't cut it. Need a young NHLer, not just Barron.

The first in 23 is a good start, but Barron and the remainder need to be replaced by players/prospects Winnipeg needs.

No, it's literally his value. This draft is deep that there's potentially a ppg player going to be picked as late as 10th overall. I'm taking that over Chychrun.

You are right that teams drafting this high wouldn't do it because of where the team is rebuilding wise but in the end there's multiple players in this draft that will be better than Chychrun. Hell Axel Sandin Pelikka might be the first dman drafted and he is projected to go anywhere from 8-14 and he may end up being better than JC.

I feel like you’re not using literally correctly. You don’t know his value. No one does.

I think that’s a good package. Barron is a young RHD with term, who looks like he might be a decent T4. If that FLA pick is in the 8-12 range, although depending on who is there at that pick, I’d be ok with, say Dach instead and adjusting the additional picks accordingly, maybe drop the 2nd or 3rd. Someone inevitably drops in the draft and we would/should snag a steal with that pick. Lots of potential in that range and would help us recover some picks if we sell our 1st this year at the deadline for a run and know PLD won’t re-up. Add in the 25’ 1st and that’s a good offer.

Yeah, the biggest factor would be where the 23 pick is. As you say, if there is someone at that pick the Jets really want, it's a big difference. I just think it extremely unlikely the Jets would accept so many picks in the package while also having to wait 2 drafts for one pick and 3 for another.

I think the Jets would just opt to move him somewhere for a similar first and better/closer to helping the team prospects. I can't see it being hard to find a similar package with more ready parts elsewhere.

Honestly, if a Yager or Dvorasky drop and are available at that spot, I’d be Ok with Barron. Swap in Dach, drop a secondary pick and swing for Reinbacher. He looked phenomenal at the Juniors. I think a lot hinge on the TDL and the playoff run we have. If we do well, the team gels we and go on a deep run and PLD gets a taste of it, I think he may resign, at least a short deal, knowing he would be quite a few years away from those with Montreal.
