I think if we trade for Toews, it will give a 3rd line that can actually score. Friedman recently reported that his asking price is a second and third round pick.

Unless Toews states he'll only accept a trade to Winnipeg, the Hawks probably decline. With the 2nd being a 2024 and not a 2023, and Appleton having 2 years after this on his deal, Hawks will definitely want more. Like the Jets 2023 3rd.

Jets should do it, maybe not this package, but def trade for JT. Sure you can sell the narrative of a hometown boy coming back to try and win a cup...which is cute and all. But the guy would immediately become the jets best FO guy and he can play up and down the lineup. Plus a change of scenery (especially in his hometown) might rejuvenate him after playing some bleak years in CHI
