Description
Thinking of a simple yet realistic approach for this team. The Trade for a D doesn't give up any major assets for the future besides a 2nd and is a way to immediately fill a need. Don't read into the Tatar signing that much, it is used mostly to show that we have the ability to add a higher price free agent, even with the large contracts given out. The biggest question marks are how much Peterka + Quinn's contracts are going to be, if we get a couple discounts from our long term deals we could open up space to sign them.

Yeah we're on the same page about a Murphy to Buffalo trade. The Philly 2nd and Bloom is a decent return.

If you’re getting Bloom, then I’d (personally) take the Philly 2nd off the table
Idk that I’d even be ok giving the VGK 2nd with Bloom

I like Murphy, but I’m ok if we get outbid for him as well

This trade proposal is definitely too much though
Much too much

The signings seem realistic. I’m hoping that Cozens doesn’t get 8.5 though.

Murphy has been hot. Bloom + PHI 2nd, or if BUF can get their hands on a late 1st, either should get it done. It might take a little sweetener to get it done since he has been hot lately, but I don't think we need to go crazy over it. Bryson has very little value to CHI, if any, and honestly I'm not very high on Olofsson. I'm not saying Olofsson isn't valuable or anything like that, and maybe it's irrational, but I just don't see him as part of the solution for CHI.

It's time for the Sabres to use a strength (Forward Prospects) to help balance out a weakness Defense on the team. Actually might use some of those assets to improve the depth at D in the prospect pool to. We are very thin there, especially if Johnson walks.

Excellent point. Use the forward depth in your system to address defense depth on the parent club.
