unlikely. the organization holds Morrow pretty high and our defense pool for soon to be ready defenders is pretty thin.

Scott Morrow is the 2nd coming of cale Makar to canes fans, only way you get him in a ACGM is if you overpay like a mf

Thought that big Russian kid passed Morrow on your prospect depth chart. Says he's a Lefty but didn't he play RD in Russia.

I don’t think Kevyn Adams is going to trade for a Defensive prospect who’s compete is judged as “below NHL Average”.

Sabres need grit and mature D (n my opinion). Meier trade seems fair though.

I think it’s a long shot right now that they would move Mittelstadt or Olafsson, let alone both. At this point, it’s more like an off-season move.

The Sabres have also been linked to Meier in terms of inquiring, but the only issue is that San Jose will still be hesitant to move him, and it’s going to cost a haul to pry him from the Sharks. He is everything we need.

It might cost Peterka or Quinn to make that happen, with the 2023 first, and if Meier was acquired, he most certainly would be playing with Thompson or Cozens, more likely Cozens, and it is more of a need than people realize. Cozens is producing but his young wingers have been in a slump. They’re going to need to pick up play for a shot at the playoffs and find a away to finish, which is another reason why I can’t see them trading Olafsson because he finishes

Agreed, but they need depth in there system to, they really have nothing coming up. Especially if Johnson walks. Sabres have the ammunition to do both IMO

It could, but this is a pretty fair offer. You are probably right. Think he would fit here nicely.

And had him with Krebs because of Krebs passing ability and Kulich well both, plus Kulich is a **** to play against below the dot.

Canes pass. we can get wingers for cheaper than that. One who has averaged 26 goals/82 games during his career? Not likely! That is better than Reinhart and equal to Nylander!

It has taken me four years but I have finally become an Olofsson supporter.
Over the last 18 games the line of Jost-Mittelstadt-Olofsson has truly gelled (Victor's line mates are a waiver claim and a possible underperforming 8th OA pick).
During that period they have 13 goals and 35 pts. with Olofsson contributing 8 of those goals.

During his career he has been described as a one trick PP pony, who could only score because Eichel was feeding him the puck.
Well he is on his way to a career year without Jack and only 4 of his 19 goals have come on the PP this year.

May not Morrow but a really good prospect and at least a second to pry him away from the Sabres.

I'm not a big Olafsson or Mittelstadt guy either, for reasons other than most people. Many will say his underlying play driving metrics and numbers are bad, which I think is useful to account for, but at the end of the day, if you don't put the puck in the net, all your fancy advanced stats and flow charts mean jack ****.

Unless we get a scorer in return, I can't see Buffalo parting ways with either guy. And Mittelstadt, he's a center who has chemistry with Jost and Olafsson, considering that the line has been performing, I don't think they will want to break that up

Olafsson is a good goal scorer and all but he isn’t good defensively. Guys like that don’t get much of a shot on the Canes. We would target Reinhart first because of that 2 way game

I want an elite prospect to trade Timo. Without that its a no go.

The way I see it you have the option of Quinn, Kulich or Peterka

Yeah, unless I already knew he was signing a reasonable extension I can't see that happening.

Well hes not dealt as a rental, so the option will be there. Expect the deal to be around 8.5x8

No one would do that unless they really hate job security. It never happens and is basically a non factor
