Is O’Reilly still worth that?

Well he needs to be healthy, but yes I don’t see why one bad half season tanks value, especially with the track record. A first round pick and a former 54th pick seems reasonable.

Minnesota declines. They aren't giving up a 1st and prospect for rentals. There's a reason they are going after Toews and not Bo. No interest from wild

Unless he has hit the regression cliff…

Might be reasonable but it won't be from wild. Our GM isn't interested in giving up prospect and 1st round pick for rentals of any kind. There's a reason our beat reporter said Minnesota is going after Toews or kane

Unlikely tbh, overall performance was fine besides awful powerplay results (randomness imo.) interestingly, his defense was still really holding strong but really tanked the last 10 games before he went on IR.

No, but maybe there ends up a tight bidding war.
I'd think St. Louis adds a pick to even it out.

With no retention on ROR would you take Hunt, 23 2nd and 5th?

Not a chance, first round pick is required.

As nice as it would be to have ROR up the middle I just don't see this deal getting done. BG has been unwilling to part with his 1st round picks for rentals, plus to a division rival....Personally I don't think the Wild are ROR away from a cup run, but it would be nice to have him even though I think Eriksson Ek is our version of ROR.

It’s much more likely if a case that he has had a rough 30 games with the turnaround and not fitting stylistically with our younger guys therefore having to play with waiver fodder than to assume a guy who was extremely elite and has been for a while less than 8 months ago hit a cliff he can’t recover from.

All I’m saying is that the cliff can and does happen…quite frequently even! I haven’t been an eye witness to much of his play this year, so I really don’t know… I know this though…extended slumps for players over 30 are huge red flags for me and not worth the risk.
