Horvat isn't signing for no 8 year $7.5M he already reportedly turned down a similar deal on the latest offer. He's not taking anything less than $8.0M+ over 7-8 years.

And that offer would be easily beaten by other teams.

Canes can probably do 7x$8M AAV.

He's on pace for over 50 goals and 90 points, I seriously doubt he takes anything less than $8,500,000 x 8 if not closer to $8,750,000 x 8.

I think selling low on Teuvo isn't wise for the canes. Mind you any garland trade is also us selling low, but the difference there still slants to the canes. I'd probably still accept even if Drury or the 2nd weren't included in this. It's an interesting concept since I don't think the KK as a 2C plans are gonna happen and Necas looks better on the wing. Staal resigning should be much cheaper.

Didn’t he turn down 56 million from Vancouver? A 7 x 8 deal (millers deal as well). 7.5 is 60 million. Which is the AAV as 8.56 million over 7 years (which you are suggesting he would take with 8+ million over 7-8 years). So will he or wont he? Or maybe you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Turbo is 28 and JR specifically said that he's only interested in players 26 and under.

not quiet. The report was VAN didnt want to offer him anything over that deal, but JR in his presser said the contract they did offer was for his production prior to this season so im guessing its 6.5-7mil AAV. Who knows either way hes not signing there. Im sure things like state taxes and such could lower his ask if he leaves canada.

He’s 28(in 2 months) never had more than 61 pts in a season, I would be very leery of giving that guy an 8x$8.5 that Carrie’s him to age 36. Not saying it won’t happen, and if the cap really goes up it wouldn’t be as much a risk, just personally I think that would be risky.
