not terrible, but I think we'd need a better prospect than Heinola.

No chance Winnipeg considers moving that much for a rental and with his QO Meier is a rental.

Winnipeg has no need for another expensive winger. They need money to re-sign PLD and then Scheifele and Hellebuyck.

Devils would beat that offer, And he's a pure rental with Winnipeg. That's way too much to give up for a 2-3 month rental.

Pld/scheifele/helly all three probably heavy negotiations this off-season, major dominos on what’s next, I really don’t want to move that 23 first, even if it’s dead last, ok maybe if its dead last in the first round. But no guarantees on that.

Can't see GmmG ever considering that. He'll trade Timo to a team that can afford to extend him which will maximize the package. Jets cannot afford Timo next year.

Pretty sure some Sharks fans on here said they checked out Meier's social media stuff and it's him on yachts living the high life or something like that, if that's true he doesn't sound like a guy who'd be cool with playing in Winnipeg.. lol.. and Winnipeg just can't be throwing away good assets on short term help, really don't see Meier as a fit for the Jets.

The Jets will only making a Timo trade if he’s re signing. The thing is he won’t. But if we’re talking hypothetically Chevy only does this move if he re signs. The jets can fit Timo as Wheeler will be shed this summer. Dubois will be leaving in 2024 so that’s more cap. I think in this world the jets retain Helle, Scheif, sign Timo and have Lucius fill in 2C as Dubois walks. A more realistic trade would be
2023 1st 2024 2nd Heinola Chibrikov
Nikita has serious top 6 potential and Ville has top 4 potential
Jets sign Timo 8x8.5

Agreed, he will have no interest in Wpg. The jets only hope is drafting and developing home grown talent. As a winnipegger that now lives in Vancouver I completely understand the struggle lol. A better asset would be Travis Konecny. He’ll have 2 more years at 5.5 and can fill Wheeler’s wing nicely

Hypothetically speaking, but would it not make a decent amount of sense for the jets to offer up a 3/4 year deal x 9.25 say or a bit of a overpay for Dubois, have him for 2/3 years and then trade him and he goes out and gets his 8x contract at that point. So short term Dubois gets big bucks and still leaves him young enough to hit a higher cap and his 8x contract.

The jets would pay Dubois anything he wants to stay. Money isn’t a problem. He wants to play in Montreal and every jets fan knows it. Sadly I don’t see even a 3x9 working out for dubes

Need to draft Minnesotans, Michiganders, Finns, Swedes and Russians, if I was Chevy I'd avoid Canadians to be honest.

What Canadians has he had problems re signing? Dubois’ French Canadian so I don’t quite count him. Honestly everyone makes a big deal about Winnipeg’s market but the only 2 big name jets that were ever considered discontent in WPG were Trouba and Laine? Trouba’s completely understandable, his wife was in school to be a doctor and wanted to practice in the US. Laine had a problem with not being on line 1 with 55. Neither was necessarily the market

Idk, I was certain Dubois was a goner but now I think theres a chance he signs a two to three year deal with the Jets and then hits UFA later once the cap goes up, likely not but we'll see.

I hope so too. I think they have a real chance if 37 and 55 re sign this summer. If they do I can see Dubois signing a 9x3

I'm guessing this was in response to me?.. lol

Yeah I know, just its mostly Canadians and US players that have the most negative image of Winnipeg.

Canadians hate Winnipeg, most of the European players probably haven't heard of it.
