My take on Meier: He’s still in San Jose come the trade deadline

Bruins aren't giving up Lysell for a rental in Meier, if they can't afford Horvat long term they won't be able to afford Meier. Sane with the Leafs and Rangers who don't have the cap space for him.

Why is Laf and a 1st more valuable than Sharangovich and a 1st? Adding Holtz seems to be a overpay for what NY is sending

I would doubt the jets were truly in the running, probably not buying that expensive of a rental or not finding the agreeable extension to sign up for 7/8 Manitoba winters.

You can eliminate Bruins, Leafs, and Rangers from the the crazy sign and trade talk.....they don't have the cap next year.

                  You are spot on.

That's the rub ... its not only cap room today, but cap room for a $10 mil QO next year, unless you let let him walk.

That contract takes too many teams out of play to extract full value.

If these were all available for SJ, I would think CAR, NJD deals would be the most appealing. But Sharks may have tough time getting those pieces. NYR, BUF would be least appealing.

The value here is wildly inconsistent

Easy pass from the Rangers. Laffy not being traded for a rental...any rental.

I don't know if I see Carolina trading for Meier. I feel like they would go after Kane over Meier because Kane probably will be cheaper. Plus I don't think Carolina wants to trade Jarvis.

I doubt Jarvis would be available. Horvat or Toews seem like a better fits for Carolina

Meier would more likely be a target over Kane. He would be a potential long term signing which is canes MO and Kane has been hurt so it’s risky especially after losing Patches. He would cost more to acquire but Canes would be willing to spend if they can figure out an extension.

Highly doubt Jarvis is available for anybody in the trade market tho. He’s too valuable given his ELC and team control. More likely to throw in a prospect or extra picks in addition to the third.

                  Jackson Blake, Scott Morrow, 2023 1st, 2023 3rd (PHI)

                  For Meier

That was my Carolina mock trade

I’m really high on morrow but would say yes if extension comes with it.

Only alt to Jarvis I would want is Niskanen. Morrow just not quite there for me

Niskanen is under contract for a few more years. But has reportedly been very good on both sides of ice.

Definetely think you could get one of Knies/Minten from the Leafs, unless the Sharks really value the defenceman
