I’d trade bailey for Vrana, but not Beau. Vrana doesn’t even have good AHL stats.

Zero chance of Detroit giving up a 3rd to move Vrana. Detroit moves Vrana at full value for a 5th or 6th round pick. But i've a feeling that there's going to be a mutual contract termination this summer.

why would anyone making 5mil ever choose to terminate their contract to make less money?

Look at his current situation, He's going to be in GR for the rest of this season. No way is he even remotely close to returning to NHL action. His value is in the toilet right now. I don't see him ever playing in Detroit ever again. From the sound of things Detroit will move on from both Vrana and Zadina this coming summer if not at the trade deadline. If a team wants to give us a 5th or 6th for Vrana at full value i'd gladly take it.

Considering the fact that 0 teams chose to claim him for free when he was on waivers, I highly doubt any team will give up a pick for him.

He went through waivers because he had used up the time allotted for conditioning and needed more time in the AHL. When you claim a player off of waivers you agree to take on his contract and he has to stay on your roster. So why would some one claim him just to send through waivers?

Vrana has another season left on his contract, so there is no need to trade him for this low of a return. Wether Detroit trades him now for a low return or they wait to see if he can figure things out and if he doesn't the Detroit trades him for a low return next year.

If the contract is terminated It would be Detroit doing the terminating not Vrana.

mutual contract termination requires the consent of both parties, so vrana would have to agree. if detroit wants him gone i think it’s a buyout situation

There are clauses written into every contract that if certain criteria is met the team can terminate the contract wether it's mutual or not.

Even if the Wild wanted to make that trade, they can't afford it.

That's not true. I have no clue about this prospect or if I like this deal for the Isles or not. But looking at your cap next year you have 9M available.

Yeah, to sign 8-9 players

The 8-9 players you are referring to are
Reaves, Ryan
Gaudreau, Frédérick
Steel, Sam
Duhaime, Brandon
Shaw, Mason
Dumba, Matt -- You guys are definitely dealing him at the deadline. So you are gonig to save money here as well.
Gustavsson, Filip - You have your stud Goalie who I heard should be ready next year.
Addison, Calen

To me, I'm taking Nelson at 6M instead of these players (forwards) you have to possibly sign.

Nelson at 6M means we have 3M left to sign 7-8 players.

Do the math on that one playboy.

Don't get butthurt just because you tried to be the expert and failed. Just admit you were wrong about the money and move on.

Before last night's game Gustavsson led the league in GAA and save %, and has done so since mid November.

You're an idiot if you think the team moves on from him.

What's better for the Wild's goaltending situation?

Moving a legitimate 24 year old 1B goaltender and waiting on a 20 year old goalie to play next year when he’s ready, and keep the 38 year old HOF'er as well. But is gone after next season.

OR

Keeping the 24 year old 1B goaltender. Let your 38 year old HOF'er play out the last year of his contract. And overbake your stud 20 year old goaltending prospect and have him wait an extra year.

Then have a truly terrifying 1A/1B goaltending tandem that will give opposing teams fits for the next 10+ years.

I got news for you, it ain't the one where the 24 year old 1B gets moved.

Your an idiot for your take on what I said. I didn't say not to resign him. I stated of the 7-8 players that you had to resignd with 9M next year. of all those FORWARDS. I rather have Nelson...please go back and read, actually read the threads first.

. . . and there will be further disappointment for all those people who keep predicting that the Kings will pay a first-round draft pick (especially if it's this year's!!) to trade Cal Petersen away when he's comfortably ensconced in Ontario.

As comical as beav who is the worst scorer in the nhl for his 4.5M contract for a guy who can outscore him while being on IR. This trade is abysmal
