Drop Wennberg and the 1st and add maybe something small Schenn? And then just hope.

I personally wouldn’t trade a good prospect, and futures for Horvat if I am Seattle. It’s not their time to go all in.. at least I don’t think so. They still have some holes, but guys like Bjorkstrand, and Beniers are also filling some. They could benefit from having a number one defender, but most importantly, a good starting goalie. That’s what I would try and get if I am Seattle.

Not a fan of the Holl signing too!

They do if Horvat signs for a reasonable contract, say 7mx5. Seattle is balanced but lacks high end skill. 1C are not easy to come by, ask Columbus. Horvat is not elite but he's in the range and an upgrade for Seattle.

If Horvat would sign at $7m x 5, the Canucks would have already signed him.

What do they do with Grubuer and Dreidger? What's wrong with Holl, he's a decent all round top4 d.

Maybe he wants a change of scenery.

Horvat is currently on pace for over 50 goals and 90 points, Ask us why he would ever consider signing for 7mx5? There's no way Horvat is taking anything less than $8,000,000 to $8,500,000 per long term. Wright isn't getting moved for Horvat. Plus Horvat wants to play close to home. Sorry the last time i knew London Ontario and Seattle are well over 2,000 miles apart.

What's wrong with Holl, he's playing top 4d on Toronto and doing well. Big, mobile, decent defender. Canucks have to pay a premium as non-contenders and also have to out bid Toronto.

Yeah i doubt the change of scenery is Seattle, When it's already been reported that he and his family want to live in London Ontario year round. So he wants to play close to home not over 2,400 miles away.

Holl isn't a bad dman but he's just not worth 4.6 for 4 years and he's 30 he's not getting younger. Plus Bear is just as good and would re sign for much less and is younger.

It's crazy to think Seattle or any team gives up so much in the very very long shot sign and trade. Are you calling a Horvat a 1C? He hasn't been in on the middling Vancouver team.

Gee, Kuzmenko gets more than 3.5m from lots of team. I'm a Holl supporter but no way he gets a four year term and 4.6m. I think he resigns with the Leafs or signs with his native Minnesota replacing Dumba.

Vancouver needs to improve their D. I would target a big, reasonably fast D who can defend and move the puck. Holl is probably the best guy they can get. Is he worth 4.6Mx4, no but I'm willing to overpay to get him. Bear is a decent all round defenseman but he's smaller, not fast, has some inconsistency. On a good team Bear is a 6/7 like he was in Carolina. Holl can be top4 on a good team as he is now.

What is long shot about sign and trade, you don't trade unless Horvat signs a contract you're happy with. That is my assumption.

Kuzmenko might get more elsewhere but will he get the same top6 opportunity on a team he likes and selected in the first place.

Horvat could be a 1C on the Kraken and other teams. I would take him over Pierre Luke Dubois for example.

That’s the thing that is going to be hard. It would not be easy to move Grubauer. Maybe a goalie swap.. Holl is meh really. He’s a bottom pair defence man in my opinion, that should get nowhere near 4M. That’s just my opinion though.

I think it's impossible to move them, have to ride it out. Hopefully their game comes around with the rest of the team. Grubuer looked decent his last game. Better to focus on D and then F. Be opportunist in G if something viable comes up otherwise get the best goalie prospects you can in the system and move on.

This Canucks team is not good enough to overpay free agents. They aren't one top 4 D man away from winning so they shouldn't overpay for a contract that has a chance to age like milk. I still think Bear can develop into a top 4 d man he played like 20 mins a night in EDM and he didn't get playing time in CAR cuz they have on of the best defensive cores. Holl is just as inconsistent as Bear is.

Lol out bid, if the leafs let him go to free Agency there not going to bring him back they would of resigned him in the resign phase. Holl is a decent bottom pairing defensemen at best he's famous for giving away the puck and he's only in the top 4 because we have AHL guys below him
