2C 3LD Top 6 Winger

Description
With Pacioretty on LTIR, we have $10 million in cap space to work with at the TDL. This basically blows the deadline for this team wide open. Best case scenario, we use this to fill our 3 biggest needs.

Those needs are, a 2C, a preferably defensive minded 3LD and a top 6 scoring winger. Also threw in some extra players that don't necessarly fit that mold, but could still be targets.

Looking at the Canes TDL history, I think they're more likely to offer up the more major assets for players with term, but obviously there are some cheaper rentals i could see them eyeing.

This is basically a big list of players i think we should target. Basically a name your price for any of these players.

Henrique with 50% retention for your 2023 first, or Scott Morrow plus the two Philly picks.

Kulikov for the Philly 3rd.

Get the sense the Sabres will keep olofsson. On pace for 30+ goals, under contract for another year, and everybody loves his goal song.

LMAO, he scores goals sure, but that’s literally all he does. A practice dummy plays defense better than him, so wouldn’t really fit in Carolina’s system.

He's got 21 goals in 46gms, he's a 3 time 20 goal scorer. Yes maybe that is all he does but he does it alot in 14min a game. He's definitely worth a 1st, especially a late one like Carolina’s will be or a top prospect - Morrow

Morrow +++
https://theathletic.com/3514563/2022/08/25/carolina-hurricanes-nhl-pipeline-rankings-prospects/
"Morrow had an excellent freshman season being one the best defensemen in Hockey East. Morrow is very good at certain things in particular when he has the puck. He’s a very skilled and creative player who can make a lot of plays and has a big shot from the point. Morrow is also a tall, mobile defenseman and the toolkit overall is exciting from a pro projection standpoint. His defense and risk-management are concerning and he can be frustrating to watch, but he has so much to work with I think he can make it as a second or third-pair defenseman that’s used in a particular way."
I would want more than prospect whose ceiling is an NHL third or second pairing.

Remember @Canesfan21_ it was @fullblowncaniac90 who WANTED THE ASKING PRICE "Basically a name your price for any of these players."
Dream on Victor would be your top goal maker this year.
If you want him, it will cost.
Or as @Stadel said "Get the sense the Sabres will keep Olofsson. On pace for 30+ goals, under contract for another year, and everybody loves his goal song."

Quoting another post:
"Olofsson, Olofsson, Olofsson.
Over his career he was labeled a PP specialist who could only score because Eichel was feeding him the puck.
Well this year let's hope both of those ideas have been debunked.
ONLY 4 of his 21 goals have come on the PP and Jack has not assisted on any of his goals this year.
As a matter of fact his center is a waiver claim, Tyson Jost (OMW what an amazing pick up).
YTD only 26 NHL forwards (LW or C or RW) have more goals, only 16 have more even strength goals than he and two of those play for the Sabres.
ONLY 6 forwards have a higher Goals/60 than his 1.9.
He would the leading scorer (or be tied for the lead) of 14 NHL teams (including Carolina), yet some think he is not worth a first?
A reality check is needed here, he is having a career year and would return more than a first at the TDL especially since he is signed for one more year."

OMW I just noticed that Morrow is not signed.
He would NOT be the prospect the Sabres would want.

A lot of the ask for Henrique would be based on retention. I'd argue he's worth a 23 2nd at full freight, maybe with a long shot high risk high reward prospect, but not anyone of particular value, cost goes up with retention. I think Rico would be damned good on the Canes and would hop on the bandwagon if he was traded there.

Kulikov 3rd to 4th in value. Lower than a 4th and I would keep him until end of season to try and protect our goalies.

I think Hawks would be good trade partners with the Canes. We can retain and are open for business. I think Canes both McCabe and Toews would be a good fit in the Canes locker room also.

Gavrikov - 2023 1st + 2023 3rd or similar-value prospect, more if it comes with an extension

Nyquist - 2023 2nd @50% retained

I could see Gavrikov signing in Carolina, it would be a shame to see him long-term with a division rival but Jarmo is letting other teams talk extensions with him. Sounds like exactly what you'd need (Defensive D-man who can play anywhere in the lineup, he'd be a monster on the 3rd pair).

Nyquist is better suited for middle-6 play, but would absolutely improve depth.
