I could not come this close to guessing for any team other than the Sabres, good ideas.
I wonder if other Sabres may follow Thompson's lead and sign for less to keep the core together, it could happen.
Buffalo is a truly inexpensive city.
Housing is a bargain, the highways were designed for mush higher population making commuting easy, entertainment is a cheap and Granato is a players coach.
Let's presume the players follow Tage's example.
1) Cozens may sign for $7.5mm
2) Dahlin sign for $10mm but he could get Erik Karlsson contract also.
3) Unlikely Krebs gets traded especially for Jeannot, he may be finding his MoJo as a 4th line center
4) Power has not demonstrated his famed goal scoring capabilities so he probably will do a bridge for about $5mm
5) Okposo may sign a very friendly team contract as well as Girgensons but it is unlikely as Adams let both Larsson and Ullmark walk for peanuts.
6) Signing Kane is a terrible idea but if he did sign, I could see him on the third line giving Buffalo three scoring line..
7) Asplund has not done well this year as Quinn, Peterka and Jost have pushed him into the press box.
8) Jokiharju will not take a pay cut and stay a Sabre, he is worth his current contract of $2,500,000
9) Where did Olofsson's 21 goals go? He would certainly be in the line up over Kane. Mittelstadt-Jost-Olofsson have 15 goals and 38 points in the their last 19 games, excellent production from a third line.
10) Murray and Varlamov are not needed, Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen (12-5-1) is doing just fine this year, UPL would need a decent back up.
11) Roy and Dillon would be nice as it could be any two decent third line defenders as well. Maybe the Sabres wait until the 2025-26 season and Jakob Chychrun signs to help out Pegula.
