Flames wouldn't trade either of those pieces alone for him

Habs aren't getting that type of return on WiFi, if they traded him it would be maybe for a 2nd but more likely a 3rd and at that point why trade him at all. His value to the Habs is higher than his value on the open market.

dnrf%h7 isn't a top-four defenceman or a player with any pedigree whatsoever, I doubt he has any trade value.

He is a better player than Romanov and we traded him to the Ilses for pick #13 last year.

As time progresses his value will only increase. This trade is a bargain!

Rename this post: Hughes trades away all the goodwill he's built up with the fans in his first year in office.

I understand that the return is a lot more than he's technically worth, but he also brings an aspect to the game with his hits and his fights that no other player in the ~50 organizational contracts brings.

It's 100% true that Hughes would get more flack for trading WiFi than for trading Slafkovsky. There is ZERO chance he is traded.

He doesn't have the track record yet, but he's a heck of a player. I understand not making the trade based on half a year of info, but he has a sort of Zdeno Chara mystique about him. I think he's gonna have an incredible career though of course I have nothing to back that up.

The **** you mean a 3rd lmao he is worth way more than that even if I don't like him that much
No teams are paying prime assets for him but he isn't worth a 3rd round pick or late 2nd

Xhekaj is a slower skater
Xhekaj brings more offense, like goals and primary assists
Xhekaj and Romanov both hit everything that moves
Xhekaj drops the gloves and Romanov does not

IMO it's about even right now but in a couple of seasons of proven goal scoring Xhekaj is gonna have the upper hand

Romanov had 4 goals and 15 assists in 133 games with the HABS and 74 PIM.

WIFI has as a rookie 5 goals and 8 assists in 45 games with 92 PIM.

So you still think Romanov is better

I know who he is but he has no place on Calgary's blue line at all. Calgary already has Zadorov who does everything he does (except fight) but for the most part better, albiet Z has been playing a lot longer but it is nevertheless still redundant.

As you said he doesn't have a track record so if you think Xhekaj can return a 1st and a top 5 goalie prospect in the league I can't wait to see what Vladar will return this offseason. Maybe Ridly Greig and Ottawa's 2023 1st?

Ok I see, you don't watch hockey
Xhekaj have a hard shot that reaches the net, so yes he has more chance to score goals than Romanov
Both hits hard and Xhekaj is a better fighter, but that's it
Romanov is better at everything else
Xhekaj is playing sheltered minutes because we don't want to expose him too much
Romanov can play against harder competition, more minutes, PK, better first pass, etc
Xhekaj doesnt even play PK, they play a 5'11 guy in Jordan Harris over him who's 6'4

its cool the X is getting time one the 3rd line on a bad defensive team and gets PP time where his slow skating isnt exposed. His skating isnt up to par to handle big minutes or tougher competition to warrant such an asking price. Also sitting in the box over 2 minutes a game hurts your team, not helps it.

No team is trading a top prospect and a first for a bruiser who is currently playing well on an awful team.

What is everything else. You need to score, assist, hit and fight. I guess you need to watch more hockey. WIFI command more presence on the Ice. I guess Romanov had a better smile. I guess that is what you are referring to.

Teams playing Flames don`t come to the arena saying OOOhhhh were playing against Zadorov. Lucic has more presence (same for WIFI)

This is actually borderline psycho.. How could someone put this together and just go, yeah probably good enough. When Habs fans turn on their own in the comments you know you've made a really really bad post.

LMAO you need to score, no **** sherlock. Romanov have more points than Xhekaj, so I guess Romanov helps his team to score more goals than Xhekaj ? While being better at defending and playing against tougher opponents. Oh, and Romanov can hit and fight as well.

Romanov > Xhekaj

Xhekaj replace Romanov for the physical part, but Guhle and Harris replace the minutes of Romanov
Romanov = top 4 dman
Xhekaj = bottom pairing dman enforcer

Romanov value > Xhekaj value

Xhekaj is terrible. -5.6 GAR, -0.9 WAR. He is hurting the team more than he is helping them. Terrible defensive play

Why because he doesn't randomly pick fights? You are clearly a troll if you think Z standing at 6'6 235lbs is not a huge presence on the ice. There is nothing left to discuss here, keep your 3rd pair goon and Calgary will keep their 1st and elite young goalie

Maybe you`re right. But you have GM`s out there that will pay a premium for a player like him. I was actually shocked when the HABS got pick #13 for Romanov.
