Why are the Ducks giving up a great young center prospect for an end of lifer in Lewis and an AHL defenseman in Gilbert?

Anaheim trading the best player in the deal and giving away a pick in the process, it doesn’t add up

With Huberneau getting a 4.6m raise, and Vladar a 1.5m raise, I wonder how Calgary manages the cap next year......and if Weager remains, well that is more cap.

No, I'm saying there is no room for Meier and maybe some others.
I liked the Tkachuk trade, but that extension for Huberneau, 10.5m X 8 could have spent a lot better

Doubtful, they weren't going to be able to offer less with Gaudreau being offered that only 2 weeks prior.

Besides Huberdeau's deal will probably age similarly to Wheeler's and if he is down to 10% of the cap by age 36 (which is reasonable) and still producing around 60 points then that's not much of an issue

If we're taking on Lucic, I'd much prefer we be getting, like, actual compensation.

We only need to dump about 2 million to afford to fill out the lines. Drop one of Kylington, Vladar or Dube and everything is fine.
