You think a cap dump/ one of the worst contracts in the league is going to get you a top tier winger???
What on earth is the motivation for Calgary to make this trade?

Calgary says add yours and Florida's first this year and they'll consider it. That's a heaping pile of dog s*** from Montreal

You're right. Add Jakob Pelletier and we're good.

PS: Just to make sure we're on the same page the worst contract is Huberdeau, right?

Lol no he's not, he's been absolutely elite defensively. Its called playing under Sutter, do you think Pettersson is going to keep scoring at his current rate inder Tocchett?

Weird.... Anderson shows up on all three lists but Hubby doesn't?
Surely these guys who cover hockey for a living couldn't have all made the exact same mistake.. I mean Anderson is probably worth the same as McDavid right? He can hit real hard and not score goals. Just what every NHL GM covets.

Huberdeau isn't having a great year considering his AAV, but man this is bad for Calgary

Some people don’t watch hockey or understand there are different systems… they think it’s 5 guys on the ice playing shinny.

So his production for under 6M is fine, it’s amazing for his first year under a new coach and system. 0.73 ppg for 6M and playing more defensively. Stud. Next year will be even better and worth the 10M

I guess I didn't realize he was still on his old contract. Yeah, for 5.9M he's a bargain with his two way play too. You hope the production goes back up next year though. Like you said, it's a whole new group of guys and system, it's not gonna be immediate.

The first 3-4 years of Huberdeau's new contract will be amazing. The following 2 will be meh. The last 2 will be horrible.

So let's talk in 4 years. At that moment Anderson's contract will have expired. He is on a pace to score 26 goals this year. At $5.5M, not $10.5M.

Huberdeau: love the player, hate the contract.

Huberdeau's contract will very likely age similar to Wheeler's. Very similar style players

Your comment proves my point.
So let's say hubby has 4 years of amazing and 4 years of meh.
What part of this deal would entice Calgary to give up those 4 years of "amazing".
Josh Anderson is a neutral asset at best.
Then there's some random "meh" and a top 4 defenseman. That doesn't come close to bridging the gap between hubby and Anderson

Maybe we should ask Darryl Sutter if he considers Josh Anderson is a "neutral asset at best"

I provided multiple links to articles from multiple national writers explaining how Anderson has one of the worst contracts in hockey. Are you going to provide any actual information or are you just going to suggest that because you personally think the coach may like the player its a great deal?
