If the Canucks are retaining nearly 4M for 4 years on Quinn it would probably result in one of the biggest trade returns in NHL history. One that no team should realistically give up

Have to repeat this in Quinn: if the Devils are building a winner, it's difficult to imagine Quinn and Luke being on the same team unless one of them becomes a forward. They're both left shot D and they'll be competing for one another's spot. It just doesn't make sense other than from a sentimental standpoint.

If you remove the retention and add another good piece, the value might be close, but I don't think the Canucks will end up trading Hughes.
