From the sabres- the price is probably fine. The Sabres wouldn't have much interest in those pieces though.

That might get you Rico with no retention, he gets a 1st if not more with 50% retention, if Nick Folgino, Andrew Copp, JG Pageau, etc all got a 1st+ Henrique with 50% retention does

and a pile of lower quality assets isnt a 1st, not to mention the AJ cap dump

Easily declined by ANA, and easily beaten by at least 3 other teams

Think it'd be better if Sharangovich was swapped for Wood in the Sharks deal.
It'd still be an overpayment for Meier, though not quite as egregious as your suggested trade.

Hahaha, yeah...I've been around a lot less because of work/child...

Agree 100% with the thoughts on the Rico/Stolie trade. I would have been all over Foote a couple of years ago, but he's been pretty "meh" since.

On Foote, its the skating. Everything else is there. Turns like the Titanic.

I'd imagine if that was going to be an easy fix, he would have improved on it down in Utica.

Question now becomes is it even fixable, or is it something he's got to play around?

Dunno to be honest. The big issue early on with Sharangovich was similar. Then pandemic hit, he spends a year in Belarus working with skating coach, and comes to next pre-season a completely different player.

Good thing with Foote is that he has a pretty high floor. At the least, he could be checking line grinder. Maybe shooter for PP. Should at least keep him above replacement value.

Can you guys call up Jason Robertson and get his skating coach? That was a big thing for him as well.

I've seen a few notes floating around about his work ethic lacking. That paired with his skating and the talent behind him in the system would make it seem like his window of opportunity with New Jersey is closing rapidly.

He has been injured some, but that is expected since he plays a heavy game. That’s the first I have heard about his work ethic lacking.

Utica has a skills coach, but he is not full-time. But I imagine, between an NHL franchise and his family pedigree, he has plenty of resources around him to fix it if he came be fixed.

I will say, the skating has improved. And in a straight line, he is not slow. I have no idea what will become of it. He probably becomes a bottom-six grinder that battles for Miles Wood old spot next year. We shall see.
