What I mean when I say "Anti-Canadian Teams" are teams that have very few Canadian players despite the league being dominated by them. NYR, BOS, VAN are a few that instantly come to mind

This trade does 3 things for Ottawa:

1) cheap 2nd pair RD to pair with Sanderson
2) gives them a decent 2 way option in the middle 6 to pair with Batherson
3) gives them an extra 3 mill ish to add another player in another trade

I know there are a couple that don’t want Russians, but first I have heard of Anti-Canadian teams.

I don't think they're actually Anti-Canadian lol, they just don't have many Canadian players.

In general if Leafs won a round or so and he was healthy heck resigned and was playing like he is in Boston people would go K well hes nice depth but sadly wasnt the case. Hurt his back bad and rest is history

Would have been like the Goodrow stuff except knowing our luck if we made it to the finals probs Lose to Tampa in 6 or 7 in the finals. Heck would we have passed VGK idk all speculation which I hate

I feel O' Rielly goes first as Toews seems like a TDL day move as theres gonna need to be a 3rd team for him unless Buffalo does it

By the country they represent. Hughes are American. Fowler is American. Caufield is American. Batherson is Canadian. Logan O'Connor is Canadian

You’re right, but that’s not what happened. What happened was he was trash in Toronto because he was injured, the leafs lost in round one, and he didn’t resign.

Even at the time it wasn’t great. When the trade happened my thought was “I love the target, but not the price”. If they would have payed like a second for him, it would have been fine.
