At this point, more buyers than sellers...yes? no?

All Possible Buyers (21): BOS, BUF, CGY, CAR, COL, DAL, EDM, FLA, LAK, MIN, NSH, NJD, NYI, NYR, PIT, SEA, TBL, TOR, VGK, WAS, WPG
...w/ $2m+ cap space (16): BOS, BUF, CGY, CAR, COL, FLA, MIN, NSH, NJD, NYI, NYR, PIT, SEA, VGK, WAS, WPG
..and in playoff position (11): BOS, CAR, COL, MIN, NJD, NYR, PIT, SEA, VGK, WAS, WPG
..and with top prospect/1st (9): CAR, MIN, NJD, NYR, PIT, SEA, VGK, WAS, WPG
(and some of those appear unwilling to take rentals)

Sellers (11): ANA, ARI, CHI, CBJ, DET, MTL, OTT, PHI, SJS, STL, VAN
(and half those have been described as in "retool")

It seems to be there are few real buyers with cap space and assets to move...and fewer teams that have committed to full rebuild.

(trying to determine any signals it could be buyers market or sellers market...I got nothing)

With all the injuries and the cap situation, i think it's going to be a sellers market.

As much as 10 teams could be looking for help at center, with only 5 or 6 available. Same for defense.

That would be my guess.

Sellers market for
- Centers and dmen with term
- Low AAV rentals

Neutral market
- Rental centers and dmen

Buyers market for
- Wingers
- High AAV rentals

(Also some team is going to make a killing on selling their cap space this year).

I could see teams asking for as much as a 3rd to retain on high AAV rentals like Kane or Toews.

Where did the idea that Zegras said something about Stecher's father come from?

Zegras might not have said THE bad thing but he still said A bad thing to Troy Stecher

Which is like saying the Montreal Canadiens this year aren’t as bad as the previous year’s team

As Devil said a bit of lip reading and the gesture of pointing up but also that Stecher was extremely mad, more than a player normally is during a scrum

Not defending his actions by any means but we can’t act like at least 80% of teams have employed people like that

Bobby Hull allegedly once said "Hitler, for example, had some good ideas. He just went a little bit too far," ( Chicago Tribune article from 1998 ). It just sucks you learn this stuff due to someone dying

You can’t deny that fact, and I’ll admit I never knew about that article but I did know about the domestic abuse for a while

We can celebrate Bobby Hull the hockey player while still calling out his deficiencies as a person

i don't think the hull family and their millions of dollars in earnings are gonna lose sleep at night over what a few schmucks in a hockey forum are gonna say

Yah, pretty messed up to start calling him a terrible person right after he dies. Not defending his actions but it’s pretty bad timing.

Tends to happen when someone dies. Their character gets thrown into question when they can't defend themselves

The thing is you learn stuff about said player after they die, simply due to the fact it’s the “perfect time” to figure out how you want to remember them
