I’d be all over this chaos.

Lou allows teams to get extension in place, flips him with 50% retention

Does Lou strik you as somebody smart enough to do that? Why take the risk? What if Horvat gets injured 3 games in?

He does not but the trade deadline is not till March 3rd. If NYI continue to slide with no improvements, why not.

How bad would it look if they miss the playoffs and Lou trades Bo for LESS than what they traded for him?

There's a good chance Ovechkin sits out so replace him with Horvat and maybe give the open Pacific spot to a Kraken player.

We wouldn’t have a player going to the game tho and that breaks the rules

Ovi will not be going tho

Like I said, I’m here for the chaos.

NYI are out of a playoff spot by March 2nd. Lou trades Bo with extension in place, while retaining 50% of his current salary for a massive return.

The 2023 pick falls into the protected range, NYI retool in the summer and VAN gets a late 2024 pick.

And could be 25-32

Would be weird and funny if Isles picks like 12 OA in 2023

Honestly a team who I could see be waiting is Carolina. They got the pieces to make a deal but also extend Horvat. The only problem is both teams in same division

Horvat would be a good Trocheck replacement but if that was the cases why wouldn't they have just traded for him like a couple hours ago and skip the middle man

Because Lou is a master contract negotiator so let him do the hard work then swoop in and save yourself a headache. Yes u might have to pay more but hey u pay to get better

Like yes sometimes Lou has a contract thats god awful (Zaitsev and Marleau) but other times he makes solid deals (Anderson, Rielly, Kadri, etc)

I’m saying if this pipe dream even happens, it’s SEA. They wanted him and no chance VAN wanted Bo in the West let alone so close.

I’m interested to see if Beauviller will get to ride shotgun with Pettersson and Kuzmenko. I think that kind of opportunity is exactly what he needs to bounce back

wouldn't Horvat be more enthusiast about negotiating a new long term deal with a really good team like CAR tho

We just saw what Horvat fetched. Now what in the world is Josh Anderson gonna fetch? 3 Firsts?

highly doubt SEA would trade Wright as in a couple years 1,2 punch of Beniers and Wright will probably be just as good or better as Beniers, Horvat

Holy crap! That was unexpected. This could massively backfire on the isles if they miss the playoffs but if they make the playoffs and resign Bo it could work out for them.

Really interested to see how it plays out with the all star game though lol

True but Francis is a man who works in mysterious ways. He may just say **** it I got Beniers and I want to reward my team.

Like Wright's path has been all over the place this year and with the way SEA has been we could see them do what VGK did

As imagine

McCann-Horvat-Eberle
Burakovsky-Beniers-Bjorkstrand
Tolvanen-Gourde-Schwartz
Tanev-Donato-Sprong

There's a tweet above explaining even if they miss Lou could still benefit
