Hughes - plays with puck the whole time, so less defense to play.
Hischier - faces oppositions top line, gets more dzone starts
Also, if there's a crucial penalty to kill, who's killing it off? Nico. Jack doesn't even kill penalties. Possessing the puck is ideal, but it's not the same as playing defense. Yeah, I get the whole, "The best defense is a good offense" thing. But that's not gonna be realistic against other teams' top players.

Just saying why Hughes defensive numbers are better than Hischier’s.
Post a chart with data….get slammed mod warning called king of intellectual shortcuts.
But the memes help keep it high level.
ok
because no one really knows what "Def ±" means and in order to figure out they'd a) need an athletic subscription and b) need to find the original article
To be fair this was not specifically towards you, but to whoever thinks it's not necessary to watch games/videos and put stats into context before judging a player because their JFresh card says it all.
There has been entire conversation about Hischier and his defensive game in this thread.
So is your post in favour of his potential for a Selke nomination or against it? All you did was post a screenshot from the Athletic. Think about your post in the context of a new user entering this thread. All I gained from that is that Backlund is Dom's frontrunner.
I wasnt directly singling you out, your post was just used as an example. Any context to go along with a post only loaded with a snip or embedded tweet or chart would help moving forward. Thanks.
Yah, anytime I see a team with a large amount of trades, or a trade with more then like 6 pieces I find a different team to critique. Trades like that do not happen in real life.
Counterpoint: ACGM isn’t supposed to be realistic, it’s supposed to be a place where one can propose concepts and options that are different to that of NHL GM’s normal paths
