That's a heck of a price tag, doubt CAR goes for that.

As you saw, I'm completely against moving Willy. But I can't see KD refusing this kind of offer.

Bigger on offense, there’s an argument there but we also need scoring.

Being able to sign him to an extension though, I’d disagree there. You don’t think we can find an extra 3-3.5 in 2 years? With some of the contracts potentially coming off or decreasing plus the salary cap increase in two years projects at 5-6M extra. I don’t see it as a huge issue. Sure, they’d have to make a couple of decisions on certain players but that wouldn’t affect the core guys.

Canes shouldn't do that nor will they for a rental (unless you can extend him). Canes easily decline

You’ve assumed I’m doing this in the offseason. I want him now…

I would love to grab and extend Nylander. Extend, not rent. Different trade pieces, but I would love to take a stab at it.

You’ve thought too much about this you’ve turned your mind into a pretzel. Nylander would be around for two playoff runs…not a rental. But you’re right, it’s too much for a rental.

I could. Leafs in win now mode, doesn’t make sense to trade for futures.

Lol, this guy. In the other thread he clearly stated someone will overpay.

Now that someone is overpaying, it's way too much.

Excuse me while I go bang my head against a nearby wall.

that kind of trade would be a sign and trade, and they could afford it they drop stalls contract at the end of the season.

No, it doesn't make sense to trade him for futures. You and I are on the same page.

But if someone comes at you with an offer you cannot refuse (mafia voice), it's a tough call.

I mean we are trading 2 years of assets without the ability to extend him now. Not a good move

This is a gross overpay. You can turn those assets into more win now pieces

Why make the trade at all if youre going to use those assets to replace the one you just moved... Youre going to move Nylander and hope to trade for a guy LIKE Nylander. Youre not going to get a guy as good as he is thats not a rental
