Not at all, he has 2 more years. He is someone Rielly desperately needs

Did he sneaked in Davidsson office to know that ? Maybe he have microphones in his office and heard him talking with Dubas. Maybe he is guessing his trade value like us

I mean it's the same idea where Timo Meier could cost less than what the Hawks got when they traded Debrincat or how all it's going to take Toews is 2nd + 3rd (Friedman). Value reveals does happen

I'd also arguing that kicking the pick back a year & also sending back cap is going to raise the ask from Chicago, though.

Not worth it. McCabe is not a name that pops. What has he accomplished in the league?

I'd prefer the Leafs land a big fish like Chychrun who can still grow his game then trade for a mediocre top 4 guy who has a ceiling.

Seems about right for the retention. Although the scenario here would probably be a bit more enticing than him going to EDM, you'd still have to wonder if he would waive to a Canadian team

What has Lehkoken accomplished or Manson? Helped Avs win the cup and his numbers are good

Seravalli said Toronto is the only Canadian team that is not on his no trade list

Good to know. I figured if there was one team we could convince him of it would be TOR. Makes you wonder what his 7th team on the list is lol

Lekhoken proved his worth in Montréal's stanley cup run in the bubble. That's why Sakic traded for him. And Manson is a big physical defeceman. McCabe is just a guy in my book. There are better available defencemen. But, the Leafs could do worse.

Lol you mean Lehkonen's 4 points in 17 playoff games? Look at McCabe's player card. I'm sure a team like Tampa would love to pay assets with what is rumoured to get a guy like McCabe. I would rather have him over another moment of Justin Holl costing us a playoff series

Friedman pretty much confirmed that McCabe has zero interest in playing in a Canadian market weeks ago when the reports on Edmonton's interest came out. Leafs fans, stop wasting your time with this, it probably won't happen

Yea, I'd take literally anyone over Holl. I just don't think allocating 4 million to another defenceman who doesn't lay the body or has a booming shot from the point is a good idea. McCabe seems like another Brodie type. The Leafs don't need that.

They have tried multiple guys with Rielly. Maybe it's time to think Rielly is the issue and should be 2nd pairing d-man with no d-zone faceoff starts.

Servalli doesn't know what the Leafs have offered (even if they have) or what the Hawks want. Why do fans believe this fantasy writers/reporters whose job is get clickbait or readership to support their income.

if that value is true, Canes should be pushing for retain using Philly's 2nd and a prospect as the price.

haha. I'm pretty sure Frank is on here a lot, because, all too often, his speculations and predictions align with the rhetoric on here almost to a 'T'. That or the people he gets his information from go on here a lot... maybe even a bit of both.

Lehkonen had 2 series game winners while playing a primarily defensive role that year. He also only allowed 2 ppga with 1 shgf in 37 minutes of PK time.
Colorado obviously saw something there (and he had a good reputation prior to that) and they were right. He gave them 4 game winners, including the Cup clincher.
You need more than scoring to win a cup.

Danault-Lehkonen, the big 4 and Price are the reason MTL went far that year in the postseason
Don't knock on Lehkonen wink

You know a funny thing? Friedman just said the same thing. Leafs aren't doing the McCabe deal for a 2nd + B level prospect or a 1st at 50% retention
