Why would the Sabres do any of those trades, then spend more money on UFAs that don't make them better. They're not a team that's going to make a splash on UFAs

Meh... he's underwhelming and we're not buyers... I wouldn't hate the deal if Detroit did it, but I'm not looking to add Krebs...

Pastrnak isn't signing with Buffalo, Besides you can only offer 7 years not 8 years.

Well, I admit the Sabres would be better....for one year, just because of Pasta. Of course next season, the Sabres don't have the cap to sign their RFAs, or update their goalies, so it falls apart pretty soon.

He's a 1st round talent and only 21. For the price of a 2nd (50% chance becomes an NHL player) and a 3rd (25% chance becomes an NHL player) not to mention these picks are NHL players in 3-4 years time.
Krebs is a NHL ready player now and he would help the re-build. It would be a very good deal for Detroit. Unfortunately it would also be a bad deal for Buffalo. Hence they would never do this.

I like it too. Don't know if he will become the star he was meant to be, but, that would be a decent trade for Detroit.

I just don't love his game personally... Zadina is a 1st round talent and only 13 months older, so why is he considered a bust by some, but Krebs isn't? I'd do Zadina for Krebs 1 for 1 in a change of scenery deal...

Maybe for a 3rd or more likely 4th. He's had a change of scenery. He played well in the 18 regular season games he played with Rochester last season. Then in the AHL Playoffs he was over a point a game. I wouldn't give up a 2nd for him at this point. Buffalo isn't going to sell him that low and if it was me I wouldn't either.

Krebs doesn't need a change of scenery, we don't do this. He is a valuable member of our team. This whole agm is a disaster

That's totally fair if you don't view him this way... I don't see a fit either, even if it's for a different reason.
