Canucks pass easily. Any deal for Hughes alone starts with Clarke and a 1st, plus more would need to be added. Then you have to pay for Demko

He had 15 bad games behind one of, if not the worst, defense in the league. The previous two years he was elite and a top 5 goalie. 15 games doesn’t change that

I think I missed the part of tbe trade where Byfield is going to Vancouver with a 1st and Clarke. 1 bad season for Demko doesn't erase a few years of being elite.

In the Kings current goalie situation, we have seen value plummet quickly with goalies. So yes, a season can greatly impact perceived value, goalie values can tank and rise faster than any other position. You tell me the last time an under .900 goalie got a solid haul, and I'll concede my argument.

Demko is projected to be back this week but I'd rather not have him rushed back into the lineup with this tire fire

Hasn't he been out for like 2.5 months, And was only expected to miss like 6 weeks. Thought i read something around that.

He last played December 1st so it has been about 7-8 weeks. A little later than expected but not like the Tanner Pearson situation

I'll give you the COVID season, but I still think 15 games of some of the worst numbers in the NHL can definitely impact your trade value. I don't believe Cal Petersen would have cleared waivers if not for his absolutely awful play this season.
