Ideal Draft Deadline Free Agency

Team: 2023-24 Chicago Blackhawks
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 24, 2023
Published: Jan. 24, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
2023 Draft
1st Overall = Connor Bedard (C)
24th Overall (Via Rangers) = Riley Heidt (C)
26th Overall (Via Tampa) = Koehn Ziemmer (RW)
33rd Overall = Samuel Honzek (C)
39th Overall (Via Ottawa) = Michael Hrabal (G)
58nd Overall (Via Tampa)= Gavin McCarthy (D)
61st Overall (Via Dallas) = Kalan Lind (C/LW)

The Blackhawks head into the season with the first overall pick and hopefully a generational talent Connor Bedard. The team has gotten a lot younger and begin a new era without Kane and Toews. Getting Bedard will make up for this loss. The hawks keep players with grit and want so that the team can create a competitive identity. Lafferty, Bedard, and Domi are those players that will be the ideal style of play that this team will be looking for. Drouin and Faksa are this years' Domi and Athanasiou, as they hope to get their careers back on track by playing with Bedard and getting more ice time. The D core is now full of youth and playing time, as there are limited spots and lots of players that will make it extremely competitive. This is a great thing to have. The draft will also be very big as we focus on drafting more forwards for the future

This mock GM is my ideal and dream offseason and opening night roster. If this happens and players do live up to their potential and some players have bounceback seasons, I can legitimatly see the blackhawks becoming a threat sooner rather than later.

Comment your thoughts, I'd like to hear them.

Wow Drouin not sure he's the guy I want around a young generational player. I want to find the Marty St.Louis type worker to team up with a potential Superstar That's not Drouin.

I guess swap Reichel and Drouin because Reichel has some grit to his game

Really think Drouin costs anything close to that? I'd maybe take a shot on him @1.5 maybe 2 if I were desperate you don't give 4 million on a prove it/ change of scenery contract
      Kevin Shattenkirk 1.75
      AA 1
      Evan Rodrigues Colorado 2
      4 is outrageous.

I can see Vancouver paying a 2024 fourth to get rid of Myers and his cap hit after paying his bonus on July 1, but that's after the draft so you won't be getting their 2023 pick. But I can't see the rebuilding Canucks paying a second to get rid of one year of Pearson's cap hit, which isn't that burdensome.

I dont see that. If they can't trade him for something then they will just keep him. As for Pearson, he might never play again. Know one knows what's going on with his hand. Might be on ltir.

The Canucks are stupid and won't rebuild. Instead they will "retool", which starts with getting rid of Myers and upgrading d

He's already rumored to be traded. 2.5 years is a long time and he's getting worse with a high cap hit. a 2nd and a 3rd is the minimum
